Product Review: A powerful and fast desktop replacement PC
I bought this PC primarily to support photo editing. My previous PC was 3 1/2 years old venerable dual core Pentium with an HDD. It was slow to start, slow to open programs and files and had insufficient resources when it came to doing things like photo-merging. So I decided that I would buy an i7 quad core with an SSD for system files and and HDD for data. This PC is blazingly fast. From a cold start to functional desktop = 20 seconds (5 minutes on old PC), wake up from sleep = 2 seconds, open Adobe PSE 11 = 2 seconds (2 minutes).
Graphics card is its weakest link and drags the windows index score down to 5.8. If you're a gamer you might want to bear that in mind. For photo editing this is not an issue since the graphics load is way less than video.
Aesthetically the case is a muted steel grey glossy finish. The full size keyboard and numeric pad is outstanding, although, as a desktop replacement I use it on a stand with an external keyboard and mouse...
